Default Recording issues with Sonar Home Studio 6

I recently bought Sonar Home Studio 6. For some reason, it won't record for more than a second. The only external equipment I have is the microphone that is plugged into the adaptor in the front of the notebook. I can't seem to fix it. Any information would be helpful.

Here is my notebook information.

Windows Vista Home Premium
HP Pavilion dv2700 Notebook PC
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 1.90 GHz
RAM 1983 MB
32-bit Operating System

Check and see if you have looping enabled.

Just a quick note here, I remember when I first started sonar. I had the exact same problem. Once I figured out how to get sonar to even record a track, by using the record button on the track. I noticed it wouldn't record very well, or even stop recording after a few seconds. I remember I was so frustrated. But I kept on persisting, because I knew the sonar program was worth figuring out, by it's very cool and complex looking interface.

Reluctant to say, I can't remember how to solve that problem. The best advice I can offer you is to go under the options menu and choose audio. And make sure the proper audio drivers are selected.
