alright, if you have the vocal imported and on an audio track, if you push play and you cant hear it, you probably don't have sonar set on the right drivers. try going to options... audio and clicking on the drivers tab, then you have to select the right input and output drivers for your soundcard. i don't know what drivers you need to set it on for your soundcard, but maybe if you have the manuals for that and sonar you might be able to find out, or you could just try clicking on different ones and seeing what happens. thats probably not the best option though depending on how many drivers you have, because i'm pretty sure you have to restart sonar every time you change them. as far as getting it to record once you have the drivers set you just highlight the little "R" button on the track and hit the record button. i hope this helps

try going in to options... audio again, and under the general tab see what it says under playback timing master, if its set to "none" it wont work. also what soundcard are you using? also if you go to options audio and click the advanced tab there is a driver mode option, if you have "asio" drivers i would try them or "wdm" drivers, it's hard to say cuz it depends on your sound card. if you change the driver mode, you'll probably have to go back under the drivers tab and set them to the right ones. i know this is a pain in the ass but sonar is awesome once you get it working. let me know what sound card you're using, and also what it says under "driver mode" under the advanced tab. also make sure you don't have your volume muted outside of sonar. oh and probably the most important question, are you using windows xp or vista?
