Default Mapping controllers to VST parameters

I was not sure if this should go in the general midi or here, but since I am using Sonar I thought I would try here first.

So last night I found a really good Leslie plug in, Spinner LE. While experimenting with it, I was able to turn on Sonar so it recorded all the events as I changed speaker speed or other parameters on the plug-in. However, I had to do all my changes with the mouse, which of course is not really practical during a performance.

When I play back the track that I recorded, Sonar sends the correct messages to the plug in and it makes the changes as I had recorded them. This leads me to believe that Sonar is recording and resending some controller messages, right? If so I should be able to map a couple of the controllers on my Axiom 61 to those messages. How do I find out what the actual messages were? I tried all the views I could think of including the event view, but I still am not seeing these events.

Any guidance is appreciated,
Harry

I believe the event view will have the info you're looking for.

I must be doing something wrong, as only the note information was showing up in the event view.

What I did was hit record, play a note, and then change several parameters in the plug in. On the event view I just see my note.

Ideas???

If you highlight a track and then go to the event view, under the title bar are options for note events, controller events, aftertouch events, etc... I'm not sure this is what you are looking for but perhaps it will help.
