I tried asking about this one on another thread, but have not yet received a response. Is anyone here familiar with using the FastTrack USB 2-channel guitar/mic interface on a laptop loaded with Sonar 6?
If so, I could sure use some tips on laying down multiple tracks with my guitar, and getting good headphone levels during simultaneous playback. Here is an example of what I am trying to accomplish:
I have my guitar and an I-Pod connected to my Line 6 Pocket Pod, in to my FastTrack. From my FastTrack, I am connected to my HP laptop via USB cable. My headphones are connected to my FastTrack. I record a song from my FastTrack onto one track in Sonar 6...no problem. I then attempt to playback that track and jam along to it with my guitar, recording on another track.
Problem: In order to hear myself play over the music track, I have to adjust the "mix" knob on my FastTrack to where I no longer get an annoying echo. By doing this however, My headphone level suffers, and I can not get anymore volume. There seems to be a signal threshold, in the mix on the FastTrack, that is preventing me from getting a decent sound level through my headphones.
Please, does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve the sound level on my headphones while trying to accomplish what I am attempting to do?
