Default Importing Audio Issues in Sonar 8

I just noticed that everytime i import multiple audio files on sonar 8 all the files just stack together on one track rather than make new tracks. For example im importing drums all the elements like kick and snare just are in the 1st track rather than put the file on the next track. Has anyone have an answer?

Yeah, really...if someone knows whether it's possible to do this in only one shot to separate tracks, that would be a useful utility.

Basically, when I'm having to import multiple WAVs into a single project, I insert however many audio tracks into which I'll be importing, then import the WAV file for each active audio track-one at a time.

Is there anyone out there who knows of a way that can be a bit of a timesaver?

I have Sonar 5P but I imagine the import dialog is still similar...In 5P they have track options in the lower left of the dialog...The track to start on and seems like there is a checkbox around there as to whether or not to import to new tracks or some such...Bascially when that checkbox is one way it stacks the selected audio files on one track...The other way it creates new tracks for each clip...All this really means that when you have a track that has multiple takes, you have to take it in separate to get it to stack...go the other way to create new tracks...That would be most painful if they took that out in 8...You can do it in 5P...

OOOOOhhhh,

I gotcha. I'm at work and totally overlooked the thought of that dialog box that I automatically click "ok" through...never really paid attention to it. Thanks for the quick response on that. Much obliged!

Peace,

I also experienced that but i noticed that my motherboard's settings were wrong. Its about the CPU temp. Your supposed to increase it to the maximum allowable temperature warning or even bypass it since motherboards are programed to shutdown at a certain temperature and sonar 8 is kinda very demanding on the system. Go to your bios setting and choose optimized defaults setting.

That is the best way I know to cut CPU life by more than 60%...Sorry, but that sounds like gamer overclocking hoopla to me...

Silicon starts to destabilize around 60C...Damage starts to ensue at 70C and above...Sure it works for a while...

Why not just spend $25 on a decent cooling system and take care of the problem at the source...and clean the computer once in a while...They run better when they are clean...

I think for what you paid for that computer that you should be able to call them directly and have them take care of it...If you can't, then it seems that Rain is NOT what they make themselves out to be...You should have no problems with a Rain and Sonar...What's you audio hardware?
