SO i purchased sonar home 6 recently and already have some troubles recording it. I am using the m-audio Mobilepre usb for the audio interface and using a probably outdated soundMAX sound card . When i playback after recording, I'm getting a pop or flutter of the track while the track is playing and its really getting annoying. I tried to install new drivers with sonar home studio 6 and the m-audio interface. I still am getting the weird pop on my playback. Could anyone help?

you could have your latency set too low, tracks will play back all fucked up if you have it set too low with a lot of tracks or effects playing back at once, or maybe even with just a few. also make sure you have the right drivers selected within sonar for recording and playback. i'm assuming your using windows xp if anythings recording or playing back at all. it's probably just some settings in sonar that need to be changed.

Well i ended up figuring out some of the problem last night... i changed the driver mode from WDM/KS to ASIO. i dont know what they mean but it seemed to fix the problem. Ofcourse, a new problem came up. when i record with the mic, its good, but when i plug in a 1/4'' cable, I get lots of feedback while recording and during playback. I tried a couple different guitars, but still no improvement. Any tips?

yeah you should definately be using asio. are you using headphones or speakers when your recording with the 1/4'' cable? if your using speakers you could try turning them down or just use headphones, or move farther away from them and see if that helps. if it's feedback it probably doesn't have anything to do with sonar.
