Default Hear guitar, but cannot record!

Hi!

I'm having a problem I bet is pretty newby, but still I can not solve it.

I have a Edirol UA-4fx, connected by usb to my laptop, using Vista.

My Edirol soundcard have a 6.3 mm guitar input with some kind of preamp. My guitar (or actually, my bass) is connected to this input. And it seems to work fine. When I play the bass, I can hear it in the speakers, my soundcards audio level indicators "show" the volume. Even Windows Sound-settings indicates when I am playing.

This far, everything is fine.

But then I start my Sonar LE 6, to record. Recording works fine using my XLR microphone and MIDI. But - and here it comes - I can't get the guitar into SONAR. No indication at all. I still hear me playing in the speakers, but Sonar won't recognise or find it.

I have searches everywhere for any settings showing more details of the input, but there is only one single input ("EDIROL UA-4FX"), so I canät chose between XLR and Guitar input.

So, I'm sorry, I don't even know if the problem is in my soundcard, in windows or if I'm doing anything wrong in Sonar.

Is there anyone here who have heard of this before? What am I missing?

Thanks!

Worse case scenario - get a DI box and run the guitar into your XLR mic input but I think that probably you're not assigning the right recording track to it.

But the guitar input should just need an audio track? I can take a look and see if there are any other kind of track that can pick up the guitar.
