Default Guitar Rig 3 Kontroller 3 supposedly Vista 64 friendly now...:(

I'm posting this here since I want the Kontroller 3 for Sonar 8 use, plus I'll use Guitar Rig 3 as a VST plug-in.
    I have an Edirol UA-25 working fine w/both GR3 & Sonar.
But every time I try to install the Kontroller 3 it installs it as a WDM not ASIO and Sonar and GR3 reject it as a viable in or out.
I updated GR3... clean uninstalled the improper or failed driver by uninstalling it both from the list of installed applications and also in Device Manager before unplugging the Kontroller 3. Every time I run the supposedly updated driver (3.2) from the site it acts like it's installing but NEVER prompts me to plug in the Kontroller 3. So when I plug it in Vista assigns a WDM driver to it instead of ASIO and there we go again and again.
    What am I doing wrong?!?!
I'm wanting to use one audio interface to record and the other to play to lighten their loads.
So far only the Edirol UA-25 is willing to play (or record) along.

Now, if I unplug my other audio interface, the Edirol, entirely for this scenario, Sonar will limp over to the WDM(?!) Drivers associated with the new Kontroller and sort of try to use it. There are numbers and level indicators beginning to work, but I can't get anything like an acceptable input level like on the ASIO Edirol, on any setting (Hi Z, gain 100%, etc.; signal present but poor).
Plug in the Edirol and Sonar drops the bad drivers for good ones without even asking ("whew") first, and begins automatically using the Edirol and only it, plus even graying out the K3.
What is going on. Isn't Kontroller 3.2 supposed to install ASIO ?

Okay, to answer a couple of my own questions (leaving 1)...
Apparently Kontroller *IS* installing ASIO drivers, which just aren't visible in Control Panel...
The only reason I can't select one interface for out and the other for in is because when using ASIO you have to have two of the same, like 2 Edirol ua-25's. A Kontroller and an E-UA-25 have to be one or the other in Sonar for both re. and playback. Bummer.
Now, why do I only get a low, muffled, or inappropriately distorted guitar sound out of the Kontroller when it sounds fine on the same GR3 settings using the Edirol? Guitar Volume... input gain (sensitivity)... Hi-Z "on"...
Hmmm maybe I'll figure that out tonight after work.
I can already hear the Edirol sounds like it blows the K3 away fidelity-wise on playback, if I've got things set right.
