Default getting a good piano sound with sonar?

Here is a tutorial I cam across on how to get a decent piano sound with a cheap midi keyboard using Sonar PE.

This tutorial deals with the TruePianos VST - an absolutely wonderful sounding piano module when it works properly... but is anyone else have any playback/tracking issues with this?

My latency absolutely blows with this VST, even though it's playable using other plugs. In addition, playback is what I could only describe as "sporadic" where a number of midi notes just won't play. I can see them, I know they're there but they refuse to play through the VST.

I know I'm not providing any background to my specific issue but have stopped using the VST awhile ago due to these issues. Just wondering if anyone else out there has dealt with any issues with it.
