Exporting MP3's on sonar

I've noticed this issue on the cakewalk Mp3 encoder. Everytime i export something to Mp3 the reverbs all sound to processed and muddy. I thought maybe i mixed it badly but when i bounced it in audio its ok. So right now Im using the Lame MP3 encoder which dosen't seem to have that problem. Anyone having the same problems?

What configuration settings do you have for the Sonar mp3 converter? 96kbps? 128kbps? 320kps?

128kbps. I've noticed that problems since sonar7 actually.

I've never had success using Cakewalk's mp3 converter anyway. I paid my $19.99 but always get the message that I still don't own it, since Sonar 4.

I gave up on it and use Soundforge.

More likely an artifact of overcompression. As an experiment, try reducing compression and lowering the peak value to around -2db and see what effect that has on the muddiness. You have to leave more headroom when the target is MP3, especially when it's a low-bitrate setting. Here's a post I made on the Cakewalk forum about it.
