Yep...I've been having the same problem since Brandon tossed up that countdown meter. It happens at both work and home, so I'm not so sure that it's a corporate firewall problem or anything. Whether at work or at home, the browser used is Internet Explorer 8, which I believe is the latest version. It takes like 20-30 seconds to open up any new page here at RecordingReview.com. Then when a page loads, we get the error message asking if we want to abort the page's scripts or not. If we do abort, the page is fine (although missing the countdown meter more than half the time). If we choose to not abort, the page often freezes up and requires closing via task manager.

Same here (explorer under Vista); changing pages takes forever ( > 30 seconds + pop-up screen). My computer indicates the flash movie of the counter is the problem... Very annoying! Specification: it says that a script in the movie (counter?!) forces Adobe flash player 10 into a slow mode... Last edited by Odla; 09-28-2009 at 08:57 PM. Reason: specification |

Same with Firefox on OS10.4. Sux. PM'd Fearless Leader. It's got to be more trouble than it's worth. Needless dampening of KHR excitement for a stupid counter. IT'S A COUNTER! Shitcan it. How ridiculous to damage your site and product launch over some flash graphics nonsense.

Looks like the counter is gone. Many thanks Brandon. Oh ya I'm at page 56 of the set-up book. If you think you needed to apologise for this section you are wrong, this is a really excellent primer and I'm a guy who has been recording (poorly) onto tape since the late 60's! This is promising to be the best $40 I've spent on the home studio yet. Thanks! |

In all seriousness, there are some psychological benefits to the counter that would help my agenda, but it's obviously not worth pissing the whole site down the drain over! Brandon |
