I mean, I don't think my stuff is so bad that no one would listen to it. But I can't seem to get any helpful comments, advice. or even a response to the questions I post. I was very excited to find this site. Especially when I read some very good opinions as to going about this recording thing. But, the only thing I have gotten is disappointment from waiting to hear anything at all. So I just wanted to say......Thanks ALOT! |

Maybe I am out of line but it looks as though you have made 8 or so threads and 10 posts in total. If this is the case it doesn't appear that you adding your to cents where you can like with guitar playing, gear etc. In the next breath it looks as though you are wanting people to respond to you. Maybe I am reading the stats incorrectly. Usually you need to give a little in order to get a little. Hope this helps. Cheers

it's not intentional, personal or editorial... in my case...I've been off the board for a bit (busy trying to apply what I learned)... I'm going to interpret your post as: " hey, if anyone's just getting back on the board, and would like to help catch up on a post that's un-responded to after a couple days...here's a few links..." ( I'll get to them through your profile links) maybe you could do the same for me? edited later: ok - so I responded to the song post, it was the only one I could add constructively towards... one comment regarding getting post responses increased - it helps to specify what issue you're trying to correct or focus; and the tighter alignment between the thread title and the issue | the better ratio of readers to respondents...figure half the people here are reading this in some state of blurry eyed delerium (probably from a long day at the office!); so simple questions are easier to reply. Long complicated questions where you have to figure out the question, not so easy. I'm really just here for the cool music. Inspirational. So a lot of times I'll listen and not respond. But I do respond to way more posts than I start. I don't understand why you plan on using a 24 track analog mixer in a new studio space. If you could explain that one, I'm all ears. | Quote: Yeah, I have to admit that I am among those of us who don't spend enough time reviewing other peoples music and yet expect good feedback on my own. My problem is that my computer at work doesn't have great speakers (sometimes none, depending on which one I'm using), and I can never crank the volume enough to listen properly, so whenever I do get to listen to a song it's more the song itself rather than the mix that I can comment on... Hopefully I'll have internet at home soon though, and then I can start being more helpful ![]() The alternative of course, and I have tried before, is to download the songs and llisten to them at home, but then of course I forget which threads they all came from

See guys, I knew you were there. Sorry I felt like I had to go to such lengths to get a response. Sorry my questions were so long. I thought I may need some background stuff for you to know how to respond. In reading the forum suggestions I did find some of the things I needed to get to be able to record. I am VERY thankful to have a place to learn. Thank You All |

Don't worry about it man. Happens to me all the time - sometimes there's just more activity on the board than other times, and if your post has slipped down the queue in the "new posts" section, then casual viewers mightn't see it, and bumping here doesn't work in quite the same way (I also worry that it might annoy people, so I try to avoid it unless I'm really in a pickle). Also, if there's no response to my mixes, I just assume that there's nothing wrong and move on to the next song
