| Hi (Namaste - I've just returned from Nepal after 3 years 'on the road' teaching English and playing gigs with local folk musicians!) For most of my life I have been a secondary teacher of pure mathematics and events organiser (Founder/MD of the 'Avalon Stage' at Glastonbury Festival). Over these years I have also written songs which I would now like to archive. I play a Breedlove Atlas electro-acoustic guitar with Chorus (when provided). My (costly) experiences in recording studios have been frustrating, so after painstaking research on the web and long discussions with canny sound engineers (whilst restricted on a tiny teachers' pension), I have bought: SE2200 microphone with shock mount, pop screen and desktop stand M-Audo Fast Track Ultra AI (USB to laptop and Ableton Lite software) So, now I need to tap in to a network to help me get off the ground and to find a clicktrack CD to keep it all in line. My repertoire is generally folk/rock with an attitude, influenced by Jackson Browne, J.J. Cale and Eric Clapton. PLEASE put all this information 'out there' and ask your 'crew' to advise. If you want to hear my recent work, check out [url=http://www.graham-russell-pead] and enter 'Original Recordings'/"Further On". You will find the lyrics (copyright) and background 'Inspiration'. It's the first song of what will become my lifework archive called "Legacy". I do hope you all can help me. Thank you.

I've been playing and singing now for 45 years. In the 70's I had Teac gear, and I made, (After many long hours of frustration) a couple of tracks that received air play on a local radio station. I'm no longer working, I'm no longer selling my soul to the Man. I've got lots of free time to pursue my musical goals, which are not grandiose. I've got: a Sony Vaio Laptop, a Zoom MRS-1044CD Workststion, A Cassio Piano with Midi out, two expensive microphones, A Gibson Les Paul, a good Fender Amplifier, and a couple of accoustic guitars. I'm a minimalist, both in terms of philosophy and budget. All I want to do is make some adequate recordings, that I can share with friends and family, or perhaps use as Demo's. I'd like to use the Cassio for drum and bass tracks, (or maybe the occasional Pan Flute, or what not.) Here's my question. Do I have enough equipment to efficiently accommplish my goals, or do I need additional recording programs? Sorry for the ingnorance.

Dear Friends, My names is Ruben Obed, Music Producer of GB Music Group. We are a Major Latin music record label. I wanted to mention that I personally as a producer, love Cubase LE which is the very basic Steinberg Offers. Infact many of the productions done here at GB Music Group are done in Cubase LE and then possibly transfered into Pro tools if need be, but the truth is, Pro Tools is not a priority for us. Yes it is a great program and the industry standard at present but no software can create a great performance. Talent is the foundation. The computer records what you put into it, and the software is simply a tool to enhance the work done. Artists which have passed through my hands have won Grammy awards, Billboard Awards, Paoli Awards, and I am certain that it wasn't the software that ensured the success of these artists. Now, on a personal note, Cubase LE is simple, effective, no latency issues with the ASIO drivers that came along with the Lexicon Alpha inteface. Lexicon Pantheon Plug in for effects sounds beautiful. Set Cubase at 24 bit recording and mix down at 24 bit and 48,000khz, and you are gonna hear exceptional soundquality. I know CD's are 44,100 but try 48,000 on cubase LE, trust me sounds great!!!!. Another recommendation is. Free VST plug ins for Effects and Instruments on: VST 4 FREE - Free VSTi Plug-ins Archives and Free-Loops.com | Free Drum Loops Wav MP3 Aif and Midi Sound Loops (I had no problem downloading from theses sites, no viruses nothing) I downloaded a load of Free Legal vst plug ins all compatible with Cubase LE. just download and place into your VST folder thats all. I also reccommend for latin percussion Wizoo's Latigo VST Plug in Even The Estefans use this VST Also Wizoo Darbuka VST for Arabic instruments. Both (Exceptional sounding plug ins) We'll if anyone hase any cubase LE questions feel free to contact me at: Ruben Obed on MySpace Music - Free Streaming MP3s, Pictures & Music Videos or write: rubenobed@hotmail.com Thanks, Ruben Obed Jejejeje not bad for my first Forum post right??? |
