Hey, I've been snooping around the forum for a while and it seems like a great place. Way better then some other forums I've been on and witnessed newbies being "killed" for asking irrelevant or "stupid" questions.
One thing, I haven't found a place here that is dedicated to rap artists and hip-hop recording/beat production. I believe that there should be a special forum for this matter since in most cases, rap recording requires different gear, software and approach then rock/metal bands do.
Just thinking...

I've chosen to break it down by application. For example:

The MIDI sequencing forum is intended to handle the more electronic styles of music (hip hop / dance / etc).

The Audio engineering forum is intended to handle mic selection, placement, usage, etc that pretty much all genres of music require.

I'm afraid that if I create a category for hip hop, then I'd also have to create a category for rock, and then metal, and then jazz. It just makes more sense to break it up by technique.

What do you think?

Brandon

Oh, I see that now. Yeah, you're probably right. I mean, if someone would want to get into a more specific issue he could just start a thread, right?
Once again, great forum. Heads up!

I love the forum. It seems my post count is decreasing. Yesterday it was 174 (or there about). Now it's 154.

Strange.

I wonder how that happened?

Did you happen to post on threads where a dude had spammed us? I always delete those.

That's possible. I remember making a remark or two on those.

No big deal.
Don't worry about it. It"s about the quality of posts not quantity. Maybe my tired old eyes thought they sawa higher count.

Hum, the timestamp doesn't really work on here.

The time in the upper right corner is acting weird.
At the bottom of the boards it says "all times are [timezone you chose]" so it shows the right time.
For me it would be GMT+1 so this post would be 3:30 PM my time. But it only says 3:30 at the bottom now. All the other timestamps show 9:30 PM and when I switch my timezone to GMT-5 all the timestamps show GMT+1 but at the bottom of the site it shows GMT-5 ... confusing

Hope you got what I was trying to point out. I could take a screenshot and mark the spots if needed.

Can this be fixed?
