This is a very simple plugin with big time power when you know how to harness it. Check out the Panipulator. Panipulator - Free Stereo Manipulator Plugin

Unfortunately it doesn't want to play nicely here all the time ...
... It works great from Wavelab, it seems to do what it says on the tin too

, I used Wavelab's signal generator to create a stereo 440Hz sine wave and then used the plugin to invert one channel and then clicked the plugin's "mono" button and a very gratifying silence (caused by summing the two channels which are exactly out of phase relative to each other) was the result
Unfortunately the plugin isn't seen at all from Sonar despite rescanning plugins etc (I even tried putting it into it's own subdirectory and adding that subdir as a specific plugins directory and it still wasn't detected/made available) ...
... And obviously as a .dll it won't work in Logic on the Macbook Pro so may I echo the "Can there be a Mac ver too plz ?" chant
HTH (inasmuch as all feedback is good for the developer

)
Peace ...
