they do make them. the transformer almost doubles the price of the mic. it's gotta be worth it though. those guys at lundahl really care about their products

Now he's got the task of finding a good mic pre for that ribbon too! Haha, that's gotta be a task in amongst itself. Anyone got a good pre for ribbons? Something not to expensive? I know True makes a single channel ribbon pre. I've used their Precision 8's on drums. very nice. What would you suggest garageband?

The Summit 2BA-221 is nice on ribbons. I have a Millenia HV-3C for the high-gain chores now-a-days, but it's not what I'd call inexpensive. The Presonus Eureka isn't bad.
