To everyone who was sincerely worried that the site was going down, I want to say thanks. It's nice knowing that my hard work has been for a reason. Sometimes I have my doubts. I told my girlfriend (who immediately called me an asshole for this) that on some levels this is just confirmation to tame my own insecurities. I have to admit that I feel pretty good knowing you guys would miss this place in addition to me feeling like a super asshole!
For those who are pissed off that I would have the audacity to do such a thing, I can only say that it was meant in good fun. I was willing to take a chance to have a little fun on the one day when pranks are ENCOURAGED. So don't get your panties in too big of waud. It was all in good fun and no one was seriously injured on the deal!
I've decided that RecordingReview.com is my career. While gear shootouts are the most boring thing imaginable, helping people get started with recording and helping people make better recordings is what I'm doing with my life. I've put way too many hours and way too many dollars into this community to turn my back now. I feel like the soldier who said "We have not yet begun to fight!".
I have so many plans for RecordingReview.com. Our first t-shirts are being printed up. I have plans for coffee mugs too. When Killer Home Recording is totally finished I expect to have enough income to make some big time improvements. 2009 will be the year that you see the first RR magazine advertisement. I plan on spending a little cash to improve our tech support situation here as there is nothing worse than your rig going down!
I've got about 20 other HUGE ideas that I'm not going to share just because I know it only took 4 years for the Russians to copy the atomic bomb and it ended being practically identical to one of the US designs. However, when money isn't a big deal, I seen dramatic expansion here at RecordingReview.com.
