The worst album(s) are all of those that were not recorded or released (like mine). I give top scores to each and every musician that succeeded in writing, recording and releasing their work to the world. To anyone who did not do so... I don't see that they have a place judging those that did.

At first, I was going to congratulate you on a great post. Then two things dawned on me

1. not many people put out an album every year, and...

2. some of those who did, really shouldn't have.

It reminds me of our awards show two years ago. We have a small population here (around 500,000), and an annual awards show with categories (rock, jazz, gospel etc). The quality to come out of this province is surprisingly good.

You should have heard the winning album in the gospel category. That should NEVER have been put to disc. It won because it had no competition. Zero. Absolutely zero. It is a solo piano (a small grand possibly, recorded in a small room, in mono, and not particularly well tuned before the session), playing covers of hymns.

So, if releasing a CD is what qualifies you to criticize others that did likewise, there's something wrong with the system!

I agree with the spirit of your post, but there's a flaw.

Well grading an album low in not criticism but is just a matter of choice. I didn't meant to criticize an artist's attempt but yes i wanted all of us to discuss the flaws we felt in somebody's musical productions. Being an artist myself I would never discourage another artist. Thanks for posting...

I have been actively working on an albulm for three years. Have yet to complete a song, but i have a few completed beats. Getting closer in quality, my view, and know how. In a race with grim reaper. but, I have big love for any artist. It is sooo big and very difficult to start, write lyrics, stay organized, engineer,create music, take criticism complete, and release anything. Congrats to all in the game for whateva reasons. We are all different, and have our own motives Thank God Give love.
