Rush's 2007 release. I jsut bought it and have been listening the past few days. I am a Rush fan and have been for a long time. From Working Man through Presto and beyond - in my opinion they have said a lot and they've said it well, and delivered it in a musical and artistic way. I still remember the first time I hear them and thought "wow what was that" it was the "all the world's a stage" album - I tend to like live albums, or at least the ones that are done with quality and intensity like this one was. My first thought was gee this is almost a little too reminiscent of where they've been. I no longer really feel that way. I'm finding it to be inspiring. I'm sure my view on this latest album will evolve a bit. I need a bit more time with it but wanted to share what I think so far. One thing I'm pretty sure of: Rush fans will find a lot to like in this ablum. |

Hey thanks for the review! I too have been a Rush fan since (well we wont go that far back!). I pick up S and A and listened 2-3 times through and while good it didn't grab me like some of the other things they have produced. I then lent the CD to a young man that had only heard the name Rush but hadn't fully experienced them yet. He still has the CD (been a few weeks). Now I may have reason to ask for it back! Perhaps this has the subtleties buried in the songs that will reach out and grab me after a few more listens. Now I am willing to give that a try! Thanks! Scott www.explicitfaith.com |
