Exclamation The New Dream Theater Album!

Has anyone else heard some of the new Dream Theater material from the upcoming album "Black Clouds and Silver Linings" yet!? What a terrific group of top-notch musicians! Amazing. Period.

This is one band that grows and grows with each new release. What's unique about this band, even though they've been around for about 25 years as the titan pioneers of progressive metal, is the fact that their sound on each of their new releases always defines "current," "modern," and "progressive." In other words, they don't "burn out." If anything, it's like inevitability's promise that they shall go out with a thunderous 'bang' when they actually do retire will surely be kept.

I just downloaded the "A Rite Of Passage" single from Roadrunner Records' website, and it kicks the shit out of the current impersonators and imitators of the driven/rock and heavy metal-oriented world...IMHO of course. Petrucci is one of the most amazing guitar players of all time. This song, along with Dream Theater's endless back catalog, proves that bold statement's truth. If this single gives any hint for what to expect when this album actually hits shelves, I'm sittin' on ready for this. The magnitude of energy, aggression, inertia, and epicness...(or -acity?) reinforces Dream Theater's relevance in the music industry as a musician's band. I have the utmost respect for their technical prowess, their song-writing abilities, and the consistent stamp of quality in their self-produced masterpieces.

End of story.

I agree entirely.. 'cept about the new song. I haven't heard it yet. I am looking foreward. DT has compiled a long library of glorious material.

Well, you gotta check it out then man! I'm pretty sure you can still download it from Roadrunner Records' website. If not, I'm at least sure you can check out the streaming music video they made for this song. It was globally premiered a couple days ago. Pretty sick stuff.

Listened to the track. Good stuff. I think it's pretty hard for Dream Theater to go wrong. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.
