The boys can play/sing but for me it was fairly un-inspiring, they maybe a little above average for this type of genre (American College Rock I think). I can see the songs being used as a backdrop for an American Pie type movie.

I like the band name and use of English slang and can imagine in America it envokes thoughts of homosexuality rather than cigarettes.

There is a band in England called "We smoke Fags"

The Fags - Light 'Em UP

Yeah, they can sing and play, but the songs are nothing innovative or special. They sound like every other band out right now on the radio. I wouldn't be able to pick them out from all the other similar singles on the radio.

It's the trend nowadays; one band hits big then a few dozen band follow behind them sounding the same.

The album for me, would probably fade into background noise/ambience at a party, but I wouldn't stop and listen attentively to it. Movie soundtrack music nails it on the head, Siski! Definitely tracks you might use on the credits rolling at the end of the movie

If you asked 1000 Americans what a "fag" is, only 2 of them (trying to be clever) would say "cigarettes". The only reason I know about the cigarette definition is from my WW2 documentaries.

best sounding album of the year,
Not to be a dick or anything, but "best sounding" means nothing to me. The only reason I'd care would be to keep up on what my clients want their recording to be comparable to. I'd much rather here about "most fun album of the year to listen to".
