Isis is on a distinguished road
Default Well one thing led to another - it usually does!

I wasn't thinking about home recording at all. In fact I'd given up on the idea. I bought a Yamaha AW16G a few years back and never got on with it so decided that really I'd stick to live music. Anyway, in my quest to sort out my stage gear by mixing all my instruments and presenting the guys on the PA with just one channel my eyes fell on an Alesis mixer. The phantom power and EQ was just what I needed and at a really good price. It wasn't till I got it home and read the manual that I realised the potential. So now I have rebuilt a PC that was just lying around just for the job and what a joy to see 8 channels come up for recording in Cubase - but I feel plenty of pain coming on getting to the next step!

So what do I do? After years of playing rock I now spend my time playing traditional British music and I'm in two bands. One is a dance band that I play acoustic bass and bouzouki in and the other is a folk song band that I play guitar and bouzouki in. Both bands already have a tech head who does recording on a digital system so I'll just be using the Alesis and Cubase just for fun.

Whatever you want! (I'm not sure if this was a rhetorical question)
