Hello everyone! My name is Mauricio Neira, I have recently purchased an Alesis MultiMix 6 USB. BUt I can't figure out how to install it on the computer. I thought it might be easy (like the sales person pitched). I plugged it into my compuer and got an initial "installing drivers" message. It hasn't done that since. Which I figure is ok. But now it won't record. When I went into my audio settings, the recording section was grayed out. I have Windows XP btw... anyways I tried everything and am getting very discouraged. Can someone please help me? I would greatly appreciate any help anyone can give. Thanks!! |

Hey Vulconizor, Yes I did read and then re-read the manual. I also tried the Alesis website. They had some references as well, which included troubleshooting. BUt none of it related to the problem I am having. The interface works solely, If I hook up the headphones to it, I can hear sound. But it won't record at all onthe computer. Not even on a basic recording device, like the one that comes with windows. Any ideas?? |

Any possibility that it could it be a driver conflict with your soundcard, since you get sound out of the device by itself, but not when it's hooked to the computer?

No problem, Feral. I'm not a real computer guy either, it's just a matter of trying to eliminate what I can think of. I'm sure someone else may be of better assistance if you find that it isn't a problem with the soundcard driver. Good luck.

Sounds like you need to set up your computer and your applications to use the MultiMix as its default audio interface. I'm not really sure how to do that on a PC so I'm sure Brandon or somebody will be by soon to guide you through it.

Ok, so I made an attempt at looking at the sound card settings. And guess what I found? A lot of things I don't understand! LOL Well I did get some help from my brother in law, but he didn't see any conflicts. I changed the settings to the Audio Codecs, and tried updating the drivers but still nothing. Man, I really need to learn more about computer gizmos!!!!
