Default Petroleum Engineer Wannabe

Hey everybody...
My real name is Hamilton, and I have been making beats for the past 5 months now. I only FL Studio 7 for now, but I'm about to get my MIDI controller soon and I'm learning how to use Reason 4.0.1
Don't really have big dreams about music, just do it for fun and everyday is a challenge for me because I'm always trying to learn new things...
I'm majoring in Petroleum Engineering @ the University of Oklahoma.

That's it...

Interesting career choice! Do liberals ever threaten you? ha ha I guess that's a bit of chemistry and a bit of mechanical engineering. Am I close?

This is a healthy way to go. Nothing wrong with the "just for fun" approach.

Welcome to the forum!

Yah Brandon, you are close....I have to deal with a lot of chemistry, math and physics. Mechanical engineering is a major by itself, but I still have to know some basics of mechanics.

Hi Beatmaker005,

I'm living in Norman, OK and I'm wondering, as an engineering student, if you have access to the MIDI lab down in the basement of the Catlett Music Center? I am tempted to take a course or two at OU just to get the use of that lab.

I don't have access to the MIDI lab, but I have been there once and I liked it a lot.

great career choice. pretty much recession proof. and you are good to go as long as there are still fossil fuels, which will be at least the rest of your lifetime. just realize that some idiots will brand you as part of the "big oil" machine, and therefore evil.
