PCI Emu 0404 + Vista

Hello. I've just signed up and I'm looking for information on setting up my brand new EMU0404 PCI card into my Vista PC, then installing all the goodies that come with it - Sonar LE, Cubase LE, Wavelab Lite, Amplitube LE, SFX Machine, Proteus LE.

I've already got Cakewalk MC4 and a Roland PC-180A controller keyboard but the keyboard had terrible latency using the PC's onboard sound which is why I'm trying out a new soundcard. Keyboard has midi out but no USB (it's quite old).

I'm reading up first as I know that the drivers that ship with the 0404 aren't Vista compatible, so I'm checking for the best way to go about the installation. If anyone wants to offer any help while I'm looking, please feel free!! Also, does anyone know if any/all of the bundled software will work with Vista? If so, what do you think of Sonar or Cubase LE compared to MC4? I don't even know what the other stuff is yet.

My ultimate goal is to write and record midi-only music and I'd prefer to input by playing, rather than typing or clicking.

It sounds like you are asking for trouble on this one. Hopefully, you'll come out out unscathed.

I'd expect both Cubase LE and Sonar LE to be more capable than Music Creator 4 as I believe they are up higher on the totem pole.
