Default Newbie needs help.

Hi Brandon:

I am trying to set up a home studio. I have gigging equipment , A rack system with a Mackie 1402 mixer, lexicon mpx 100 processor, Mackie srm 450 active speakers,2 deck cd player, shure sm58 mics, stands , cables, Dell computer with win. XP. 120 gig HD. 512 MB Ram,DigiMax Soundcard. I will be recording acapella music so there is no instrument outlets necessary, just the 5 mics for the group. I just need to know what goes in between the computer and the mixer in order to make the whole thing work. (IE a different sound card or whatever. I read your getting started section, and will be getting the cubase software, I have the Free Ntrack recording software installed at the moment. I just dont know what is needed to make the computer and the equipment talk to each other, and where from the mixer do I hook up to each other. Any help that you can offer will be greatly appreciated. BTW, there are four of us singing and we use a cd for background tracks.

Thank You Carlos

It's called an Audio Interface or soundcard. Check out my home recording soundcard wizard in my signature.
