Question Newbie

Hi! My name is Ken. I'm a karaoke junkie who has taken it a step further and actually cut a CD of some of my favorite songs. It was recorded in a home studio, and turned out okay, but I'm seeking better quality. I picked up an Alesis io/2 unit with some quality speakers and mics, and will be using cubase LE.

What I want to do exactly is import a karaoke instrumental track, then record a vocal track and then burn to a CD, but am having some trouble getting started. If anyone's been there, I would love to hear from you...maybe you can step me through it...

Thanks!

Hi Ken

How far along are you?

Do you know how to hook it all up?

Do you know how to use Cubase?

Do you know how to import a CD track?

What are your "quality speakers and mics"?

Sorry about all the questions but your request was not specific enough.

Cheers

Baron

Baron, thanks for the reply. The setup I am using includes a pair of stand-mounted Edirol MA-150 speakers, two audio-technica ATH-M40fs precision studio headphones, and an audio technica AT2020 cartioid condenser mic, plus of course the Alesis io/2 two-channel 24-bit USB audio interface. I have I believe inteconnected them all properly with the supplied cables, but not sure because I haven't been able to get anywhere with cubase. Still trying to find some good learning material so I can import a track (karaoke instrumental) and give it a go!

Try my article Soundcard Troubleshooting 101

If that doesn't help, let me know.
