New to recording

Hey Guys, I thought I would introduce myself.

I am new to this world and thought yu guys maybe able to help me out.

I downloaded Audacity last night to try and make some loops using a few of the plug ins. I down loaded the outdoorverb, which I will use later when I get into recording,and the nature pack from XOXO to play around with loops and making backing tracks.

My problem is I can't get anything to work. When I use the plug in all I get is a lot of noise. Nothing even remotely close to a thunderstorm or wind or anything.

I have no clue what I am doing wrong. At first I thought there is something else I mayneed to down load with Audacity to use that plug but I don't even get the same screenshot that is on XOXO.
