das0a5 is on a distinguished road
Default new guy here using sx3/g5 mac/firepod

I actually started this mess over a year ago. I made a couple recordings before hardware/driver/frustration issues forced me to give up the computer setup for my own sanity. Been using a friend's fostex recorder in the interem, but am ready to get rollin again on my own equipment. I also need to learn more about acoustics and soundproofing.

You hit the nail on the head! I started "this mess" (recording) back in 2001 and "this other mess" (RecordingReview.com) back in 2005. They go hand in hand with "tihs mess" (my life) which was started back in 1980.

The computer thing is a double edged sword. When they work, you can do some amazing things. When you have problems, you usually have BIG problems. Of course, there are quite a few guys on the forum here who are very handy at this sort of thing.

You may want to create specific threads for these in the Audio Engineering section.
