hey new to this forum... but not new to recording... i've had a home setup for over 2 years now. however, i've always had some slight interference in my speakers, but since i've moved into my university flat, the interference has got louder. i am currently using a mac mini with an M-Audio firewire 410 interface with a pair of active Behringer truth B2031A studio monitors. the interference i'm getting is like a humming sound with a little hissing and crackling, and when i move my mouse or the computer is doing something ( such as loading up logic express 7 or playing songs on itunes), the hissing/cracking gets louder. when i listen closely, it also sounds like there is a kind of pulse. someone suggested that it could be an earth loop... could this be the case? any other suggestions to what it could be and how i could solve my problem? |

Check out this Furman Power Conditioner. There are probably cheaper versions, but this will point you in the right direction. |
