Default My singer can't hear himself recording, help!

I sing for my band and I am already picky enough when it comes to what tracks to keep for the songs we record.
I can do a pretty decent job if I can hear myself.
The obvious problem...I can't hear myself.
I run a Yamaha MG12/4 FX mixer.
I was wondering if there was a way I could make a mix for myself that wouldn't affect how much was running into the computer?

Currently I've tried running a line from the computer to the mixer on channels 9/10 and 11/12 through RCA inputs. And then I have a feed running from my stereo outs into the computer.
I have c-r phones but the only thing that happens when I turn them up is I just get a louder mix of what I already have.
Is there anyway to turn up my vocals more in my headphones without affecting my feed to the computer?

If you need the specs:
Mixers | Products | Yamaha Pro Audio

Do you have an aux send on this unit? That's where I'd look to send a different mix from what I'm dumping into my capturing device.

Yes, I do.
But to be honest I don't know how the whole send and return thing work.
