Hello all, I've already posted some stuff and figure I should do an introduction. Here’s my who, where, and why. Who: My name is Max (the "hard" is ironic and whole thing is also my Xbox live name). I fell in love with guitar when I was 12 and have been playing ever since (that makes 16 years). Initially, I finger picked along with using a thumb pick to learn kumbaya and other such wholesome songs before spending a year playing blues (old blues, ala, 1930s finger-picking stuff written by blind guys). My desire to be a punk guitarist (low aspirations, no?) led me to a different teacher who convinced me to expand my horizons. In high school I was in several bands and looked up to the standard guitar heros (still do). I spent a couple of years of college under the guise of a composition/classical guitar student before deciding I didn’t want to be a poor musician. I switched to business and now work as an accountant (no snickering please). My time as a music student taught me a lot of theory which I’ve mostly forgotten and that I will never be any good at classical guitar. I also played jazz guitar and bass. My love of guitar has never waned and I still try to practice a few hours a week when my schedule/attitude allow. I really want to start taking lessons or jam with an accomplished guitarist as there is a ton I still want to learn. If you hail from Denver and are looking for someone to jam with let me know! I also picked up a cute wife and two little pugs along the way. My wifie has always been pretty supportive (*phew*) and even learned bass and played in our band for a little while. The pugs like to sleep a lot and are generally adorable. Where: I hail from Littleton, Colorado, a Denver suburb. Why: I’ve been thinking about building a home studio beyond my old stand-alone 8-track digital recorder and stumbled onto this awesome forum. Last edited by Hard Max; 09-14-2009 at 06:37 PM. |

![]() Welcome aboard. Hop on hang on and enjoy the ride! I lived in Colorado Springs for awhile. Used to to to the Trail Dust all the time (not sure if that was the actual name, but it's the place where they cut off your tie if you wear a tie in the restaurant).

Trail Dust is the name of that restaurant, good memory! I've never been there myself but I know the place.
