Midi Interface Mic Question
I'm George, played piano/keyboard/trombone for more than 20 years, and have recently added midi software and interface to my tools.
At this point in my life creating a top end home production studio is not even on the horizon, but rather some basic equipment to record using my computer. I'm running Windows XP, but since this computer is not only dedicated to this project so I still have my firewall up and virus control is on. I have successfuly put down music with my keyboard, but have not successfully recorded any voice using a mic.
Software: Cubase LE Interface: Tascam US-122L, Mic: Sennheiser MD 421 U-5.
On the interface there are MIDI IN, MIDI OUT, USB, LINE OUT, LINE IN, L&R
MIC, AND Phones. With headphones on I can hear the mic is connected, so I know that's working. The interface is connected with the USB cable, which I think should bring my mic into the computer. My quesiton is this a software (knowing how to use it) problem? I think it is.
I'm recording the music putting down midi tracks, and also using the sofware I put down an audio track thinking I should record voice, but that does not seem to work.
Any suggestions on recording off a mic with midi programs will be greatly appreciated.
