Default introduce myself

Hey Guys and Gals, I'm Jim and I am new to this forum and I am happy that there is help out there for all of this recording tech. I am new to all this and I hope that you can help me with a problem that has gotten me very frustrated. I have vista home premium and I just bought and put on my computer the cubase le 4 that came with my audio box usb by personus. I can't seem you get any sound into the recording program and I see no modulation on the screen. And obviously when there is no sound going in, there is no sound coming out. When I try to change from what it says is the Asio direct x full duplex driver to the Asio Presonus usb, under device set up, i get a message that says "error opening usb device (2). Can you Help me Please! Thanks Jim

Cubse LE4 is defaulting to direct X full duplex because it can't find your ASIO drivers.

You should probably get support from Presonus. But USB stuff is funny. I would first delete the drivers and then reinstall them while reading the directions carefully. Sometimes the device has to be plugged in while installing.

When you go to Device Manager in Windows what does it say? Are the drivers enabled? Does the device show up there? You didn't change USB ports, right?

They other thing is that Vista is stubborn. Sometimes you have to disable something to alow drivers to load. I gave up on Vista last summer so I don't remember all the details anymore.

Good luck - Dave

Hi
I just did the same yesterday, but I am using Cubase studio 4 on vista home premium.
When I installed the software and tried to make it work I get nothing as you, but get sure that you are familiar with the interface. In my case, that was the problem, until I find that after starting a project is necessary to activate the inputs and outputs in the small screen that appear as soon as you select a track.
Excuse me if I assuming you to be unfamiliar with the software, as I was
