Hi,
Firsly I'd like to state that I am not a musician, however, I am looking for some home recording advice. I am currently creating hypotherapy audio CDs - Part of the process includes recording affirmations and suggestions. I want to make these recordings as professional as possible, without going to the expense of hiring a studio. Ideally, I'd like to use my PC, with suitable s/w, mike soundcard etc. Unfortunately, I don't have a clue where to start with this. I'd appreciate any suggestions on how to set this up. I do have a budget for equipment, which could stretch upto £500. However, cheaper the better, if there's some good budget price equipment/sw around. Thanks Chris |

While I don't recommend them for music recording, your needs are fairly light. I'd check out the USB microphones out there.

For what you are doing, Audacity is perfect. You shouldn't need anything else.
