A bit about myself.... I'm a jazz musician and contemporary classical composer who uses home recording setup to realise compositions before sending scores out!
I use Sonar 7 to record, Finale 2008 as a scoring package. Use Event tuned reference 6 monitors...oh and a PC running XP with 3g ram. I'm looking to get some good orchestral percussion samples that include things like bowed vibraphone, boed cymbals etc and have been looking at VR 2 elite orchestral percussion. Anyone have any feedback about which orchestral percussion sample sets are comprehensive and really good? Thanks, and glad to have found this forum! JJ |

Check these out.
The Platinum series is known for being extremely comprehensive. I've had the silver on my list for some time, but I really don't have an extreme need for orchestra samples in most of the pop/rock music I'm doing. Make sure whatever sample package you choose is compatible with Finale. Brandon
