Hey, just joined this site. I'm fairly new to recording stuff but not to writing stuff. I have been writing lyrics and guitar riffs for about 6 months now with most of it being pretty rubbish.

Currently using Adobe Audition and recording straight from guitar/mic to laptop through audio in which I guess isn't probably such a good option.

Maybe. Maybe your approaching this from the wrong mentality.

Why isn't it a good idea? Are you using an audio interface of any kind?

Well I do it more because I enjoy it.

Anyway have no Audio interface just use the built in soundcard which has an audio in jack. I have just got alesis micron for christmas and am not quite sure how to add this in. Am sure this isn't the place for questions anyway will put a proper post where it should be.
