Carkus is on a distinguished road
Default Hi all from the Carkus!!!!!

I'm from South Africa, got hooked into recording about two years ago, have been reading the forum for a few months now but haven't introduced myself.

I started recording using Sequel and an Emu 0404 just for laying down guitar tracks and adding drum loops to them. Bought a Roland TD-9 drum set to make my own drum loops and tracks, (I would of bought an acoustic set but I live in a complex). Got Cubase SX3 and BFD2, made some cool recordings and decided to upgrade to an M-audio Profire 2626 with Pro-tools M-powered 8. Currently studying the Masterclass online Sound recording & engineering course which is really cool! I've read some books on building a home studio and hope to be adding some acoustic treatment and wooden floor to my 10' by 6' L shaped room. I hope to add a partition to give me a separate control room and a medium sized recording/jam room but that will only come next year due to "insufficient funds", but no rush. I currently play in two bands as a lead guitarist and as a rhythm git and lead vocals. I dig all kinds of music but mainly the guitar, drums, distortion and effects thing. Have been and will be using this forum allot and hope to be sharing some tracks soon. Cheerz from down south!!

Be careful. There are lots of sharks and ship wrecks down there. (Part of my usual documentary watching.)

Welcome to the forum!

Yea, i've done allot of surfing just 50 km down the coast from where they do all the cage diving, seen some big shadows lurking just past the back line. There is a story about an 8 meter great white that patrols around the Robin Island area... never go in the see on your own in those parts, helps with the odds of being eaten in one bite!!!
