Hey guys I've recently got into the stacked recording vibe in Cubase Sx 3. This is great for doing comped Vocals. Anybody else using it? This is where the editing features in the app do really come to the fore. Now I know what a crossfade is and does There are a few things to bare in mind though 1) Make sure your vocalist sings in exactly the same way 2) Set Cubase in record preferences to "create events and regions" 3) Make your cuts in between silences not breaths 4) When you move your edits hold down ctl key so you keep them in time I recorded my girlfriend's vocals this way (she is very picky about her vox-Vocalists don't you just hate em lmao) and couldn't spot the joins or even that she didn't sing one phrase at all! I comped it without her If any of you want some more advice I'll gladly help or put Vocal Comping into glurbble and there is a you tube vid of it which is straight off of the Cubase SX3 advanced DVD Silver Carrilon AC 1 etc etc Last edited by Silver; 10-28-2008 at 07:18 PM.
