Default Hi!

My name's Sara, I play acoustic guitar mostly but a lot of other things more informally, I'm in high school and in a band called The Skylights but I have a ton of "solo" songs that I've started to record using my really ghetto studio in my basement. I've got decent instruments and a shareware program (Audacity), but my main problem is that I get a ton of fuzz in my recordings and I can't figure out where the source of the problem is. I hope that I can get help from more experienced musicians here and share some of my music when I get all of the buzzing out of it!

Shitty mic?
Poor signal from mic meaning that once you increase the volume to something suitable it'll have a lot of hissing noise?
Your Pc's cpu?

Yeah you know I really thought it was the mic because actually I don't get it when using my keyboard or electric drum kit, just singing and guitar- but then I bought a pickup for my guitar and a bass so both of those have buzzing even though they're not going through the mic. I guess I've narrowed it down to the amps, I have 2 and one's really new... but I'm not sure exactly what it is about them. They are a tiny bit better when plugged into the set of outlets the computer runs off of, like not on the wall, but still buzzy. Should this be moved to the question section...?

It wouldn't hurt Joyce. I don't think as many people read the intro's as do the question section. Might help to head it with a PLEASE HELP ME, ????????. I think you will get a broader audience there. I am a new member also so I can't address your question with any credibility. I am sure you will get plenty of help there. Good luck.
