Hi Everyone,
I've been recording a few years now... I moved last January and was stuck in a small apartment with my wife while watching our new house go up. I found that such close quarters were not conducive to artistic creativity so I spent the last 6 months buying rack gear on Ebay.

Now I'm moved in my new home with its closet studio. Things were going too smoothly so I bought myself a new computer with Vista Home Premium and spent all last month loading drivers and disabling every feature on Vista until it looked like Windows 3.1!

Finally I came to my senses and I am now rearming my Vista machine to hand it off to my wife so I can get OL RELIABLE back. Greetings to everyone. I'm not big on forums, but this site has the best advice around. Thanks for that! Dave

Did you ever have any success with Vista? I still haven't heard of a "happy ending" when trying to record with Vista.

Hi Brandon,

Just this month Lexicon released Vista drivers for my Omega but my Cubase Le and Cubase SE have the same quirky behavior that makes them intolerably difficult to use. THe Lexicon people said they would put me on a notification list for when they get their CUbase LE4 available. IF they do indeed offer an update for an LE version I woul dbe inmpressed, however I have decided to go back to my XP machine and its own USB conflict problems.

To mitigate my USB problems, I bought a respectable PCI USB/Firewire board. Hopefully this will fix everything, but if not I will at least have a Firewire option when shopping for a new interface. Why must it be soooo difficult? LOL Does anyone else (besides audio recording people) have all these problems with computing??? Thanks for asking, Dave

Easy. 5 Billion people all pulling in different directions ends up in a stalemate where nothing gets done. There's an eastern saying that says "If a man could focus all of his mind for 2 minutes, he could have the world". I say if you can get 2 people to pull in the same direction, you can have the world.
