Welcome Petra, It's great to have someone with all that experience around here. Anyway, you can share here - we're not the whole world.

Thanks electriclight, You have just a few years on me age wise, but if your name links you to ELO ,then I bow before a "rock god" or if you had anything to do with their sound , lights or recording for that matter.( or does it indicate that the light's are still on, so don't count you out yet!) I have pushed since my teens to make music a part of my life, but I have never managed to elevate it from avocation to occupation. NOW, in my 40's I have managed to put together all the makings of a small production/home studio company and my back, knees, eyes and ears are failing me!!! Such is life! Most of my live/recording experience has been on 16 channel rigs,small/med clubs and some outdoor shows. Alot of fun memories though and that's what it's all about. Now I run praise and worship at my church (250 seating) on a mackie 32/4 and some Bose mains. The praise team (Band) has developed nicely and now we run Bass, drums (roland td-10 elec), 2 guitars (elec/acous), keys, sax and 3or4 vox and a small choir.Very cool things happening!(2 jazz school grads' in the group) Once I get my stage finished I want to start doing outdoor shows in the nice ,flat 3 acre field behind the church on holiday's and community outreach type events. None of the pressure to make money, It's all paid for! Not that I wouldn't like to make some of it back, my wallet stays very thin! well ,I'll try to not be a stranger and post my 2 cents from time to time..... ![]() Petra Last edited by Petra; 12-09-2008 at 11:01 PM. |

I'm just a fan of ELO. I played violin in high school so I listened to Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna, Kansas, and ELO. I once got a music review from a guy that got paid to move Jeff Lynne's mixing console out of his garage. That's how close I am to Electric Light Orchestra.

Had the kit that he used to record that cut in his living room, pretty cool stuff.... |

Thanks fortyseven, I've already learned a great deal from the forum (just reading it for some time now) and I've been on the mailing list for......a little over a year I guess.Alot of great info to be had all around. A VERY friendly and knowledgable forum here,I have ghosted around on most of the music related forums, the only other ones I care for are tweakheads and harmony. Say, I have 8 acoustic and vocal tracks that I recorded for my step sister and I need to "home master" them in sonar 7. I have toyed with the new VST processors but want to do the best I can for her. Do any of you know of a Sonar JEDI master on the forum who could guide me thru . She is out in Texas and wants the tracks by Christmas to submit to a song writing compitition. They are all just nylon acoustic and vocal , just clean basic song concepts, but when I did them in sonar 4 pro I wound up light on my levels (about 10 db) so I want to punch them up in sonar7 pro using the new mastering tools. It will probably be just ,set up a processing buss and run them thru as I am pressed for time, just to get her a clean solid disk. I will probably want to play with the tracks some more after that though... I Could use a good guide if any are willing and able? |
