| I am using cubse sx3 with a behringer mixxing board with u-200 usb control wich is a sound card of sorts I guess ( I am new to recording ) the problem I am having with this Is everthing is recording fine and play is fine but when I go to use a vst plug in such as for example Tracks or ozone3 I go to click on preview and I get no sound of the track I recorded I am not sure what to do and I'm at my wits end lol. The thing I find strange is when I use these vst in the insert mode and play back they work that way but not when I load the program and want to preview effects before I prosess track any help to this problem of mine would be greatfull and appriecated thank-you and thanks to the person for making this forum for guys like me to get help shawn |

hey dude, welcome to the forums. i kinda had the same issue a few months ago which i never managed to completely solve. my solution then (and not a very good one i might add) was to apply changes without previewing and if i didnt like it, i'd simply undo. i know this isn't really an answer but it was the best i could come up with. ultimately this was partly why i started moving away from using cubase.

Glad you have your issue figured out, but I am still curious: Why would you be "processing" a track and using a VST to do so? How would you be doing this? I cannot get my head around this at all.

yeah, Acoustic. That's what's making me wonder. I preview the various processes that you can do to the audio such as fade-ins and fade-outs, etc... They sometimes don't preview for me, but that's usually if I have a real short snippet I'm working with. I cannot for the life of me recall anytime I would have used a VST to process a fade-in or to do a silence or anything like that. In fact, I'm not too sure you can even DO that in Cubase. lol I've never seen any way that you can apply a VST to any of the audio process functions. That's why I'm asking. Trying to figure out what it exactly is that is trying to be done.

Welcome to the Forum. You found a great place as I am sure you can see from the answers to your question already. I'm a newbie myself and have yet to come across a problem that I didn't find help here. Look forward to hearing some of your stuff on Bash this Song. The feedback you will get will be most useful, has for me.
