Default granite rock

G'day Folks,
I'm in Oz, on the Granite Belt in S E Queensland. Have been recording some orig songs with Yamaha MW10C mixer and packaged Cubase AI4. It's a bugger to install if the puter has any probs. Heh heh, so I wopped in a new bigger hard drive and started again. No probs. And the Yamaha support was fantastical.
Still trying to get my head around Cubase, but so far am able to record what I sound like solo on stage and that is good enough for me.
Cubase has midi capability. My question is...how do you do a midi track? What hardware (as in synth or whatever) is needed to plug into what? This is a complete mystery box to me.
Any help would be muchly appreciated.
Goodies at ya
Rennie
