Welcome.

You need to provide more indformation. If you are recording in a concrete basement you probably DO have echos.

But it could be the monitoring in software or a milion other things. Tells us what you are recording and what hardware and software you are using.

Oops, sorry about that, I suppose some background info would help huh?
No frills system...
Electric guitar into Roland VG--88 processor into Yamaha MW10 USB mixer straight into the computer. Used this set up years ago on a Window 98 machine and worked perfect and actually sounded pretty decent. So as you see, can't be an external factor. Maybe the echo term I used isn't the best way to describe it? Say I lay down the drum track (using exported wave file from Acid), then go to record the guitar track, I get a very slight reverb or echo sound. then if I mute the drum track I can still hear the drums playing on the guitar track? They aren't QUITE as loud as the "real" drum track, but pretty close. Well with the two tracks playing at once, it ends up sounding like major reverb or something on the drums? Like I said, never had this problem with Guitar Studio and a Windows 98 machine. I am using Vista now as well. Patiently waiting for Windows 7!
Hope that helps, thanks!
