I was able to make a living doing sound in L.A. and Santa Barbara to do that I did sound for everything parades to talk shows. Got to work on videos that made it on MTV when they actually played videos. Some songs I engineered made it to movies that most have seen... Worked at some great studios! Everything I did was to be in the recording studio creating and learning ![]() I left to have a family now I am trying to see if this old man can create something worth listening to... Equipment I have now. MacBook Pro Presonus Firestudio GXL2200 condenser microphone a-lot of sound theory and years of experience ohhh ya had ear exam and I still have great hearing! Now to see if I can learn enough to make it happen, I think I found a great resource here in this forum. |

We recorded a concert with the Crash Test Dummies when they came to Isla Vista, Santa Barbara. A band called Far Cry who just signed with Epic opened for them and we recorded them also. Anyway a buddy Mike Cam edited the video for C.T.D. and it played several times on MTv's show 120minutes... I don't recall if the video for Far Cry did anything. Cool thing was C.T.D.s' "The Ghosts That Haunt Me" was the #1 album in Canada the week we shot. Did a video shoot with Blood, Sweat & Tears we were suppose to get to do Yes but the venue in L.A. was union so the equipment just set idle... We did a weekly show for Ventura county cable called "Rock Frequencies" We had 3 acts a week, the 1st show I mixed was the best one we ever did... Worked with tons of wannabe's and has beens... Loved working with Spirit, first meet them when they booked my rehearsal studio. First pro job was suppose to be a live sound gig with Edgar Winter in Bakersfield but it canceled and ended up being a concert at Bakersfield College with "The Latin Alliance". Lighter Shade of Brown we're the coolest of the rappers even though I never really cared for rap... Don't want to run on... I've been really impressed with songs/artist/ and engineers on the Recording Reviews on this site. You guys are awesome! I know I'll be able to learn tons from most here! |
