im in a band and weve started recording songs. i have a PA system which we plug our amps into as well as a microphone for drums and vocals. then we plug the PA sytem form the record out jack into my laptop microphone jack. doing this we can only record a single track with all of us playing together , not alowing us to edit the individual instruments and vocals on the recording. is there any way i can record all the instruments(channels on the PA system) on to my laptop using KRISTAL to multitrack alowing me to adjust the volumes? or do i need to buy any equipment to record each instrument/ channel? |

You'll need to buy equipment for that. There are two options for this. #1) You could switch a mixer with USB 2.0 or Firewire to act as both a mixer and an audio interface. This is one example. #2) If you aren't using the inserts on your current mixer, you could tap off of those inserts and go into an audio interface like a Presonus Firepod (FP10) or M-Audio Delta 1010.
