i actually use a soundblaster audigy 2zs soundcard for recording and it works, i don't have more than 2ms latency when i'm tracking unless i have so many tracks and effects playing back at once that i have to set it to set it to 5ms, when i'm mixing and really start throwing plugins on everything and adding midi tracks i'll set it higher. it wasn't the stock soundcard in my computer, but i bought it at circuit city like 3 years ago when i knew nothing about recording, but it looked like it would work and it does. i can't record more than 2 tracks at a time, but i haven't needed to so far, and thats why i still haven't upgraded.
