Default UAD-1 vs Focusrite Liquidmix vs TC Powercore

Hello all, I've decide that I'm just about ready to upgrade my plugins. I've been using Waves Platinum for a long time, and I think I'm ready to go for something a little different. I was asked why I...

Post Re: UAD-1 vs Focusrite Liquidmix vs TC Powercore

Helow
I am a newbie on this forum and also in recording domain(3 years only) but i heard and used the UAD the TC Powercore in different recording studios .
Liquid Mix is what i use now and i am very pleased of its capabilities.
The eq is precise and a bit "coloured" and i find it superior to any of Waves eq.
The compression is very good and I really like how it sounds even on vocals. This little toy from Focusrite has a shiny and upstanding sound and I recommend it to anyone. I must admit that i wasn`t very interested regarding the accuracy of the emulations.
Regarding to reverb I find the Wizoo W2 just amazing.
As a master limiter i use the"Elephant" from Voxengo replacing the L2 from Waves.

I have both UAD-1 and PowerCore PCI cards. I think the UAD plugins sound better. But the problems I have had with the PowerCore cards means I would never touch TC products again. I am a computer systems engineer for my day job and am well used to getting PCI cards working in computers. The PowerCore cards have been nothing but trouble as I am always getting massages about losing communication with the card and the plugin is disabled. Also TC has no effective user support.

The UAD-2 cards are out and the quad processor UAD-2 is a really powerful card. Check it out!
