Default Direct Guitar Technology is FINALLY Here

As many of you may know, I believe that if you want to achieve real deal electric guitar sounds, you need to record with a real deal amp in a real room with a real mic. (There are a few exceptions to...

Very cool. I wondered when his day would come. Figured it had to come along sooner or later. March of progress and all that... I can see why it took so long, it is a complicated problem, and I don't know the size of the market but what can it be a few million $$ per quarter or something for a unit like this? It's hard to fund a lot of research on sales of that size. Glad someone cracked it though. I'm unlikely to jump in this year (too much other stuff competing for the funds... ) but it does seem appealing. Thanks for posting on this I'm not sure I would have ever heard of it otherwise.

Sounds to me like they actually figured out touch sensitivity as well. I wonder if it also responds to the volume knob like a realie ?

Time will tell.

As I mentioned in the blog, the interesting / scary part is the fact that someone will make a $200 version that sounds better than this one in less than 5 years. I HATE blowing money on things with no resell value. Of course, I could be wrong. Maybe this thing will hold it's value just fine.

Time will tell.
